A pentestercontraction of the English penetration test "or intrusion tester, is an expert in cyber security whose mission is to simulate computer attacks (pentests) on information systems in order to identify the vulnerabilities. It uses its skills in a legal and authorised manner to test and improve the security of IT systems.
It is also known as ethical hacker.
An ethical hacker is a "white hat" hacker, as opposed to a "black hat" hacker, who has malicious intentions.
