Cobot

A cobotshort for collaborative robot in English, or collaborative robotis a type of robot designed to work in direct collaboration with humans in a shared workspace. Unlike traditional industrial robots, which are generally isolated for safety reasons, cobots are designed to be safe and easy to program, enabling closer interaction between humans and machines.

Artificial intelligence is playing an increasing role in cobots, enabling them to be more adaptive, intuitive and efficient.

📌 Characteristics of a cobot

  • Human-machine collaboration : They are designed to work alongside humans, assisting them in a variety of tasks.
  • Safety : They are equipped with sensors and software that enable them to detect the presence of humans and stop or slow down to avoid collisions.
  • Easy to program : They are generally easier to program and configure than traditional industrial robots, often by simply demonstrating the movements required.
